Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to the purchase of tickets for, and participation in, the Jos Unity Marathon (“the Event”) — a 21 km community unity walk taking place on Sat, 28 Nov 2026 starting and finishing at Jay City Food Central, Jos, Plateau State. The Event is organized by Jos Walk Club(“the Organizer”, “we”, “us”).

By buying a ticket or taking part in the Event, you agree to these terms. If you buy tickets for other people, you confirm you have their permission and that they also accept these terms.

A ticket entitles one named participant to take part in the walk and receive the entitlements listed at checkout (race bib, finisher medal, refreshments and finish-festival access). Each ticket carries a unique reference and QR code — keep them private and present one at bib pick-up on event day.

Please make sure the name, email address and phone number you provide at checkout are accurate — we use them to deliver your tickets and event updates. Children under 12 take part free when accompanied by a ticketed adult and remain that adult’s responsibility throughout the Event.

Ticket prices are as displayed at checkout at the time of purchase. Promotional pricing (such as early-bird or group rates) applies only within the window and conditions shown at checkout and may end or change without notice; a price you were quoted earlier is not guaranteed if you complete payment after it has changed.

Payment is by bank transfer to a one-time virtual account generated for your order and processed by our payment partner, Lint. Transfer the exact amount shown before the account expires. If a transfer arrives after expiry or for the wrong amount, contact us at hello@josunitymarathon.ng and we will resolve it. Your order is confirmed, and tickets issued, only once payment is received in full.

Virtual entries include courier delivery of your race pack to the address you provide, for the delivery fee shown at checkout. Please make sure your address and phone number are correct — we cannot re-deliver packs returned because of an incorrect address without a further delivery fee.

Tickets are non-refundable, except where the Event is cancelled entirely and not rescheduled — in that case we will refund the ticket price you paid. Delivery fees for virtual race packs are non-refundable once your pack has been dispatched.

You may transfer your ticket to another person free of charge by emailing us the ticket reference and the new participant’s details no later than 7 days before the Event.

If the Event is postponed or rescheduled (for example for safety, security or weather reasons), your ticket remains valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may transfer your ticket as described above.

The route, schedule, start time and other Event details are planned with Plateau State security agencies and traffic authorities and may change where necessary for safety or operational reasons. We will announce material changes by email and on our official channels. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund.

The Event is a non-competitive walk over 21 km. By taking part you confirm that you know of no medical condition that makes it unsafe for you to participate, and that you take part voluntarily and at your own risk to the extent permitted by Nigerian law.

Marshals, medics, water points and ambulance cover are provided along the route. You must follow the instructions of marshals, medical staff and security personnel at all times, stay on the marked route, and stop walking if you feel unwell and alert the nearest marshal or medic.

The Event celebrates unity — everyone is welcome, and everyone is expected to treat fellow walkers, volunteers, marshals and residents with respect. Bicycles, motorcycles and other vehicles are not permitted on the route, and neither is any conduct that endangers or harasses others. The Organizer may refuse entry to, or remove from the Event, anyone who breaches these terms, without refund.

The Event is photographed and filmed. By taking part you consent to appearing in photos and recordings taken at the Event and to their use by the Organizer and its partners to promote the Event and its community projects, without payment. If you would like a specific image of you taken down, contact us and we will act on reasonable requests.

We collect the details you provide at checkout (name, email, phone number) to process your order, deliver your tickets and send you essential Event information. Payments are processed by Lint; we do not receive or store your bank credentials. We do not sell your personal data. To have your data corrected or deleted after the Event, email hello@josunitymarathon.ng.

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, the Organizer, its partners, sponsors and volunteers are not liable for personal property lost or damaged at the Event, or for injury or loss arising from your failure to follow these terms or the instructions of Event staff. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
